Whereas critics have used words like “chocolate” and “caramel” to describe the richness and shimmering quality of Andrea Fabiana’s voice, she also possesses a range and an edgy and dramatic vocal timbre that make her performances both intimate and powerful.

Immersed in music in her native Argentina, Andrea Fabiana moved to Canada at the age of 14. She earned her B.Mus. in Music at the University of Calgary and her Masters of Music in choral conducting from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.  Her vocal coaches include Heidi Klassen, David L. Jones, Nancy Argenta, Ingrid Attrot, John Mitchell, Catherine Robbin, Patricia Hrynkiw, Alexander Grey and Lee Hoffman, among others.

Andrea Fabiana has appeared as a soloist with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, the Berkshire Choral Festival, Symphony Nova Scotia, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, the CBC Radio Orchestra, the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra, and the New Westminster Symphony Orchestra.

Andrea Fabiana has also been a featured guest soloist with Erato Ensemble, Vancouver’s Sonic Boom Festival, the Monteverdi Symposium, a Company of Instruments Baroque Orchestra, and the Vancouver Latin Music Festival. She currently sings professionally with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, under the direction of Jon Washburn. Andrea Fabiana was a founding member of the a-cappella trio Kallisto, which has received accolades around Canada; and of the Vancouver-based early music octet Stellaria.

Her most recent opera experience include the title role in Handel’s Amadigi di Gaula with Opera Appassionata, and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with The Opera Project. As a recitalist, Andrea Fabiana focuses on repertoire which highlights her varied cultural background: Spanish, Latin American and Sephardic.
